What to do if your vehicle was Impounded
York Regional Police Impounds
If your vehicle was impounded by York Regional Police you will require the Impound slip given to the driver at the time of Impoundment along with government issued photo I.D. to claim it. Your release time and date are printed on the impound slip. If you need any clarification please contact our office and we will answer any questions you may have. Vehicles are released 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 7 days a week including holidays. Regular office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you are picking up your vehicle outside of regular business hours please call (905) 738-3588 and leave a message with your name and phone number and the on call person will call you back. Towing and daily storage fees apply.
If your vehicle has been impounded and you need to retrieve items from it this can be done Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. only. Please note that our staff will not retrieve property on your behalf.
City of Vaughan Impounds
If your vehicle has been impounded by the City of Vaughan you will require proof of ownership and I.D. to claim the vehicle. Releases are done 8:00 a.m.-8:00p.m. 7 days a week. Towing and daily storage fees apply.
